Thankyou to Hardsparrow, Laura and Matt for your kind words. I'll buy you each a milkybar next time I see you. That's not a euphemism by the way.

I saw OLO play at the Luminaire in London last week as part of the tour. Unless you have the attention span of a easily-distracted flea I find it impossible to see how you could describe them as boring. The music blends perfectly between tracks and the kind of organised chaos that comes with such complex and unique sounds makes for fantastic live viewing.

Have to say that this review is either poorly written or plain misleading - can't decide which so I will plump for a little of both. I would certainly recommend people looking into OLO Worms. If you can get to a live set, you will be in for a treat. Easily one of the best live sets and a little gem in the Fence pack. They pull songs together like musical puppetry and, seemingly against the odds, produce a sound and experience that, literally, no other band is making.

Thanks for the review Tom! I didn't take it quite as personally as these guys.. of course any gig review is one person's opinion and perfectly valid on that level. I'm glad you enjoyed the night, and found it worthy of a write up!

It does seem a shame you didn't connect with what the OLOs were doing though.. and your review paints a picture of a band that have no songs, which I feel is a bit unfair.. for me, they absolutely excel at gelling pop songs (of which they played two 3-minuters, incidentally, Back From England and The Barber Shop) with more exploratory (yet never arbitrary, or freeform) sonics. Perhaps it's just a matter of taste, but If you fancy giving them a second chance, I'd recommend you visit their website and download the Barefoot album (it's free) to get a clearer view of where they're coming from song-wise.

Anyhoo, thanks for the review, and thanks to BHOne for posting it!

Hate it when reviewers put too much of themselves into a piece. This read like a bit of poor sixth form poetry rather than an informative review. Thankfully this made it very easy to dismiss. I saw Olo Worms last night and they were terrific. If I had the time, I'd write another review here - show you how it's done!
