Bournemouth Ink 2010

Without doubt one of the event highlights from last year was the inaugural Bournemouth Ink Tattoo Convention, held at the Opera House (now O2 Academy) in Boscombe. This year’s event looks like being even bigger and better, having moved to the BIC. For those unaware of what’s on offer, there’s far more than ink on show. Here’s a few words from the event organisers…

Bournemouth Ink, Bournemouth’s very own Tattoo Convention, is currently gearing up for its second annual event, which will be taking place at the BIC on the 29th & 30th May 2010. Having already nearly tripled in size since its first year, the event will feature tattooists from around the UK and the world. International names such as Dan Gold and Xed le Head, both renowned in their field will be on the list of over 100 tattooists that will be tattooing at the event alongside local artists such as Steve A, Ben Hamill and Ana Walker.

As well as tattooing, Bournemouth Ink will feature the best of Burlesque performance and live music. Local favourites Dubheart and Dusty Cuts will feature among the music offering with Bournemouth Beauty Miss Fan Teasy featuring in the line-up of Burlesque dancers. As in 2009, The Transmutants will be creating mayhem with street performance and of course, their renowned Pink Aeroplane will be driving through the streets…

One of the event organisers, Trevor Hill said:
“We hope to bring up to 8000 people to Bournemouth for this years convention, tickets are selling every day with a real buzz already being created in the town and further afield. With the vast entertainment line-up and the internationally known artists that are coming this year, I think it could be classified as more of an indoor tattoo festival than a convention.”
