For us, the Endorse it in Dorset Festival weekend was the highlight of last year. We’ve sung its praises since the first time we went four years ago, this year’s event is rapidly approaching (6-8 August) and we have some fantastic news regarding Oxjam, as well as a free weekend ticket to give away.

First up, we must say a massive “THANK YOU!” to the organisers of Endorse it for allowing Oxjam to have a presence at this year’s Festival – nine bands playing at the Wig-On Casino Stage on Sunday 8th August. This is a massive boost for what we are trying to do with Oxjam; raising both money and awareness for our main Takeover Event on 23rd October, and ultimately for the invaluable work carried out by Oxfam. We’re hoping the acts we have booked will see people flooding to the stage on Sunday, we’ll have tins and buckets ready for your donations with every £1 being hugely appreciated and gratefully received.

Local music, global impact – in action. Here’s just a few of the Oxfam activities the money raised could support:
£100 – Essential medicines & medical equipment – Even the most basic medicines can make a big difference. First aid kits, sanitary kits and simple drugs can help a
community health worker make someone’s life a lot better.
£429 – Build A Library - Education is the key to escaping poverty, and libraries play an important role. This money could build the building, train staff to run it, fill the shelves with books and provide computers.
£720 – Safe water for 800 people - Supplying clean water saves lives. Filters, taps and tanks – Oxfam has got what it takes when it comes to delivering safe water that will keep people healthy and happy.

The live music on the Wig-On Casino Stage kicks off at 11.30am with the ridiculously talented and equally beautiful Mischa. This will be preceded by some Team Leg Waxing. Apparently this may smart a little, so please come and laugh at our misery whilst dropping change into a nearby Oxjam bucket. The following nine bands are more than worthy of a festival slot – LADY WINWOODS MAGGOT – SCIENCE OF EIGHT LIMBS – MY BROKEN 101 – BIG FACE REGGAE – MUTANT VINYL – THE SPORADICS – ONE MAN DESTRUCTION SHOW – ANIMAL TALENT SHOW – MISCHA – please come and support this event.
