Mutant Vinyl – new tracks landing this Thursday…

07.05.2010 · Posted in News by Tony Foster

Well, they’ve been enjoying heavy rotation on our player since last week – the new tracks from Mutant VinylAcid Honey and The Wind That Woke Our Baby. We’ll be double dropping this Thursday, featuring both as Sound Tracks after their first ever public play on Hope FM (90.1) this Wednesday evening. What are they sounding like? Beautiful. Intense. Delicate. Heavy. Mutant Vinyl.

Before the main feature and full content this Thursday, here’s a few words from Ed Pope on Acid Honey

Acid Honey for me marks the start of a new era for Mutant Vinyl… I knew I wanted to make a chorus that people could remember and sing, and then a sax solo that would take them on a hallucinogenic-esque adventure…

And on The Wind That Woke Our Baby

It’s always been a favourite. It feels peaceful to me and helps calm me down during a gig. For the live recording, I got to finally use the Hammond Organ that was sat in the studio. Using it gave a colouring that Mutant haven’t seen before and I think the track feels really different… It’s a fragile Mutant song for sure…

To listen to the tracks and to and read Ed’s full prose, check back this Thursday. For the exclusive first play, tune into Tim Heywood’s Livewire Live show on Hope FM this Wednesday. And for the next local live Vinyl (where you’ll be able to get your mitts on Acid Honey/The Wind…), get down to Solid Air at The Winchester on Mon 19 July…
